Racing legend Sir Jack Brabham and wife Lady Margaret Brabham have visited the National Sports Museum to be named a patron of Kidney Health Australia, in the process reuniting with Sir Jack’s famous Repco BT19 racing car, which he drove to victory for the first time in 1966.
Sir Jack Brabham OBE and Lady Margaret Brabham will become patrons of Kidney Health Australia to help raise awareness about Chronic Kidney Disease in Australia which affects over two million Australians.
Today's event was also attended by well-known car racing identity Bob Jane, three times Australian rally champion Cody Crocker and Peter Lanyon, the only rally driver to have competed in the Kidney Kar Rally for twenty years.
Sir Jack and Lady Margaret Brabham will immediately take action to increase awareness about Chronic Kidney Disease by officially launching a new handbook for people and families affected by chronic kidney disease titled “Living with Reduced Kidney Function.”
The Brabham name is synonymous with Grand Prix motor racing and to this day, Sir Jack Brabham, the first driver in history to be knighted for his services to motorsport, remains one of racing’s most popular personalities.
