As the 2012 Australian Open brings the biggest names in tennis to Australian shores, visitors to the museum are invited to explore Australian Open – Two venues, one tournament, recognising the 25 years since the tournament moved from Kooyong to Melbourne Park.
Tennis fanatics can immerse themselves in the history of the tournament, with items such as Jimmy Connors’ racquet used during the 1970s tournaments sitting alongside posters and programs from a variety of previous competitions.
The National Sports Museum is thrilled to pay tribute to these great achievements and important pieces of sporting history and share these important landmarks in Australian sporting history with the public.
Australian Open – Two venues, one tournament will be on display until April, 2012.
