GOING GLOBAL at the NSM – Spain, Italy, England!
Monday June 29 to Sunday July 5 (Short hours on July 4)
With three International Champions Cup Australia soccer matches being hosted at the MCG in July, the National Sports Museum (NSM) is Going Global!
Kids will get to know more about the sport and the visiting teams, and explore and compare the range of cultures that will be represented at the ‘G during July.
You’ll also get the chance to learn soccer skills and drills – learn to play the game or improve on what you can do already!
For those who want to explore the museum, there’s a museum trail; and there’s plenty of opportunity to create your own poster in the Rallying the Spirits exhibition, which looks at the role of sport in Australia during World War One.
And if you are planning on a visit to the ever popular Game On!, have a go at challenging a champ on the bicycles – see who can ride the fastest!
Kids, let the Bank of Melbourne help you explore the NSM through a mystery trail, and win a prize when you finish!
Take a trip back in time – create your own poster
In Rallying the Spirits you’ll find out how sport was used to encourage people to take part in the war. Create your own poster and think about what you would say to encourage people to support your country. Suitable for anyone who likes to draw!
Football (soccer) skills and drills
The Archie Thompson School of Soccer will run a skills and drills session on Monday June 29 from from 12pm-3pm.
