The Coaches Courtyard will be up and running again throughout the Easter school holiday period.
Kids will have the opportunity to participate in a range of “make and take” activities here, including footy, surfing and car racing colour-ins. Kids will be able to dress up in sports gear and take a photo with What a Shot!
Representatives from Melbourne Heart FC and Hockey Victoria will make special visits to the MCG during the holiday period to share their sporting tips.
The clinics will be set up inside Gate 3 near the NSM cloaking desk and on the external concourse. *See below for specific timings.
The interactive Game On area offers a range of sporting activities, including cricket, AFL, soccer, cycling, netball and archery.
Visitors to the museum can run out the batsman on a virtual cricket pitch, test their goalkicking skills against AFL players, put hand-eye coordination to the test and kick, throw, shoot, ride, race and run to their heart's content.
Challenge a Champ in Game On! Melbourne Tigers basketballers will be on hand to test your skills.
This Easter, visitors will have the opportunity to take in a number of new displays.
The Henley-on-Yarra river carnival is celebrated in a new showcase which features a selection of historic trophies, posters, artworks, photographs and programs that illustrate the legacy that the historic regatta has left us since its beginning in 1904.
The MCC is also proud to have acquired one of Sir Donald Bradman’s baggy green caps, adding to its magnificent collection of baggy greens worn by Australia’s Test cricketers.
Visitors can test their attention to detail in the NSM and go in the draw to win a prize by taking on the Bank of Melbourne trivia trail.
For those who want to rest their feet, NSM Cinema Sport offers non-stop sporting action screening films created especially for the National Sports Museum, or families can recharge their batteries with a bite to eat or a cup of coffee at the Paddock Cafe.
Visitors can also top their day off with a tour around the mighty MCG.
