Green and Gold Explorer Challenge
This January visitors will have the opportunity to take in our latest exhibition, More Than Green and Gold: Australia’s Sporting Colours, which captures the historical journey of green and gold as our national colours through a rare collection of artefacts.

The Green and Gold Explorer Challenge invites visitors to follow a trail through the exhibition and Yarra Park, offering clues to solve the challenge along the way.

The Coaches Courtyard
The Coaches Courtyard will be up and running again throughout the summer school holiday period.  Kids will have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities here, including cricket and tennis colouring in activities. 

Melbourne Now Kids on Tour*
The National Sports Museum has partnered with the National Gallery of Victoria for a one-off workshop from Monday January 20 to Friday January 24 (10am-12pm daily).

Located within the Coaches Courtyard and presented by Preston Fly Design, the work shop will provide kids with the opportunity to create and decorate their own sneakers and slippers.

Game On!
The interactive Game On area offers a range of sporting activities, including cricket, AFL, soccer, cycling, netball and archery. Visitors to the museum can run out Adam Gilchrist on a virtual cricket pitch, test their goalkicking skills against AFL players, put hand-eye coordination to the test and kick, throw, shoot, ride, race and run to their heart's content.

Learn to bowl!

Bowls Australia experts will be teaching the tricks of the trade to kids keen to learn the basic skills of lawn bowls.

The activity will be set up inside Gate 3, near the NSM cloaking desk, from Monday January 20 to Friday January 24 (10.00am-3.00pm daily).

Other highlights
For those who want to rest their feet, NSM Cinema Sport offers non-stop sporting action screening films created especially for the National Sports Museum, or families can recharge their batteries with a bite to eat or a cup of coffee at the Paddock Cafe.

Visitors can also top their day off with a tour around the mighty MCG.

*Please note the Melbourne Now Kids on Tour workshop will run from 10am – 12pm, January 20 to 24 (or until shoes run out).
