Multi-sports Display

Horse racing exhibit in the National Sports MuseumDisplays on sports including basketball, boxing, cycling, golf, horse racing, tennis, soccer, netball, Paralympic Games, rugby union and rugby league are featured within the National Sports Museum.

The new horse racing exhibit is the latest addition to the multi-sports display, paying tribute to the sport of kings.

“Fashions on the Field” features colourful archive footage and commentary reflecting the trends and styles throughout our racing history. “Phar Lap” is a celebration of the legendary horse and his place in Australian racing folklore.

“Great Moments” is a montage of those memorable times that have contributed to the rich story of Australian horseracing.

Also on display are 11 of Bart Cumming’s 12 Melbourne Cups. You can also learn about the fabulous career of Bart in the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Spirit of Sport exhibition in the museum.
