Olympics 2012

In 2012 the National Sports Museum offers schools great programs to really engage with the Olympics, which are being held in London, England.

With one of the world’s finest collections of Olympic material and showcases devoted to every
Games since 1896, where better to celebrate the great achievements of Australian athletes and to study the history of international sport’s premier competition.

In terms 2 and 3 of 2012, the National Sports Museum offers schools the opportunity to meet an Olympian and hear their story of journey and triumph.

Schools can also book to see a specially developed play about our first Olympic champions.
Melbourne and the MCG hosted the Olympic Games in 1956 and the mighty stadium reeks of the great sporting moments that thrilled the crowds all those years ago.

You’re invited to take part in their Olympic package of an MCG Tour, a visit to the National Sports Museum including the interactive Game On gallery and either a session with an Olympian or take in the play.
