Australian Gallery of Sport and Olympic Museum Collection

Established by the MCC in 1984, the Australian Gallery of Sport and Olympic Museum (AGOS-OM) was developed with the primary objective to encapsulate the depth and breadth of Australians’ participation within all sport at all levels within the one collection.

The AGOS-OM collection, together with loans from sporting associations and individuals has formed the platform for the development of the National Sports Museum which provides a dedicated environment for the display and interpretation of a range of sports.

The AGOS-OM collection which has focused strongly on the Olympics – Summer and Winter; cricket and Australian Football also provides representation for all sports undertaken within Australia including netball, rugby league, cycling, softball and baseball together with the participation of women, indigenous communities and the development of our sporting diversity through our strong multi-cultural community.
